Friends in Christ, we are currently finishing our time in Mark’s Gospel.

Then the following fortnight we are privleged to welcome at all Sunday services Deputations from CMS (Church Missionary Society) link missionaries, at opposite ends of their service with CMS.

On Sunday 26 October, we welcome Josh and Susannah Apieczonek, with Zali, Reuben and Heidi, who are back in Sydney for their final home service, after concluding a decade of Ssudent and church ministry, in Lyon, France. As it is also Reformation Sunday, Josh will be preaching on the question: “Does France still need the Reformation?” (wth cantata at 10:30am - see below). By the way, Josh has been appointed the new Head of Mission at Moore College for 2026.

On Sunday 2 November, we welcome our new link missionaries (and former student ministers), Lachie and Zaneta Neal, with their infant son, Perrin. God willing, they will head to Japan earliy in 2026, seeking to enable and strengthen Japanese Christians to proclaim the gospel of Jesus. If you are new to the Cathedeal, or don’t recall the Neals, click the image below for a 47 second video introduction… It will be great to have the Appas and the Neals with us!

You could also start your year spiritually refreshed at CMS Summer School, with keynote Bible studies in Proverbs - “Wisdom’s Call” - 3-9 January 2026, at Katoomba.

At Summer School, you’ll also enjoy diverse and encouraging missionary sessions, amazing music, and opportunities to grow your heart for God’s mission.

In 2026, The Rev Dr Dan Wu, Old Testament Lecturer at Moore Theological College, will bring us talks from the book of Proverbs. We will consider what it means to live wisely as God’s people, engaged in supporting and sending workers for Christ’s glory. We will also hear from other guest speakers about how God is building his kingdom around the world.
